Heatherlea Angus Home
Welcome,
Heatherlea Angus is located in Caledon, approximately one hour northwest of Toronto, Ontario, Canada where we breed Registered Black Angus Cattle.
Since 1975 we have been in the Black Angus business. Since the late 1990’s, we have built upon the superior genetics of our present herd of cattle.
We strive for balanced trait selection, calving ease, growth, fertility and longevity. At Heatherlea Angus you will see 12 year old cows still working alongside their daughters and granddaughters. Our bulls and cows must be structurally sound to walk the rugged hills of Caledon, therefore we are sticklers for feet and legs. Selection for this trait is of utmost importance in our sire selection process. We continue to develop our herd through the use of Embryo Transfer and A.I., producing strong functional cattle that perform well and are problem-free.
Our highest objective is to produce bulls for the most knowledgeable commercial cattlemen. In order to meet this objective year in and year out we continuously and thoroughly search for above average bulls to use in our AI program. Our cows are culled in order to meet these crucial requirements.
We have select females for sale for a value-added addition to your herd. Semen and embryos are available from some of our top producers. Please visit those pages for further information or feel free to contact us for availability.
We look forward to speaking with you about our cattle, herd development and the beef industry. If you can’t stop by the farm please look for us at some of the local area livestock events: North American Beef Congress, London; Ontario Futurity, Brampton; The Royal Winter Fair in Toronto or the World Angus Forum in 2009.
